Yoga and energy healing encompass a range of therapeutic modalities which focus on channelling your energy to bring balance and promote wellbeing for the body, mind and soul.

During this training, you will study specific techniques in body movement, breath work, energetic connection and mindfulness.

These techniques will increase self-awareness, in both body and mind, promote healthy living, enable you to let go of what holds you back in life, and allow you to live to your full potential.

With the trainings, private accommodation set amongst the British countryside, you can allow natures beauty to soothe your soul and the healthy food provided to nourish your body.

What you will study.

  • The history and theory of yoga philosophy and energetic healing,
  • Yoga movement; including forms of yoga dance, restorative, iyengar, ashtanga and hatha.
  • Breath work (pranayama) techniques to facilitate healing. Study your Prana (life energy).
  • The Chakra system and how this connects to your yoga practice.
  • Learn the relationships of each chakra, how they connect to the emotional and physical self and discover ways to improve those connections.
  • How blockages in your natural energy flow are related to current challenges in life
  • Exercises to heal these blockages and understanding how the enormous power inside you can improve the self-healing capacity of the body.
  • Introduction to traditional healing modalities of the Vedic culture form India.

The training is held at Bala Brook Retreat Centre, on Dartmoor, South Devon.

Bala Brook is situated in Dartmoor National Park and on the edge of the open moor. With 35 acres of delightful gardens, fields, mature oak trees and woodland adjoining the waterfalls of Bala Brook, which tumbles down to join the river Avon. A haven for wildlife, plants and people!

We have chosen to hold the training in this location because we feel that nature plays a huge role in our ability to connect, heal, and learn.

Just by being there, amongst the beauty of the natural world, you will be able to free your mind, step out of your routine in life and find time to really focus. We have hired the entire centre for the training, allowing us space to roam free, in the open moorlands by day, and watching the moon and stars by night.

We have use of a beautiful, light and airy yoga studio with underfloor heating and doors that open onto the garden and Brook. Mats, bolsters, blocks and blankets available to use and there is a quiet seating area with books available to read.

We will provide you with 3 daily healthy vegan meals and snacks during the day. There is an inside communal space for relaxing in between workshops.

Weather dependant, some of the workshops and classes will be held outside on the grass land.

Shared and private rooms available with wither private or shared bathrooms.

Chloe Garland from Wild and Free at Heart.

From a very early age I have felt a strong connection to nature and to spirituality. My natural empathy for others and connection to the natural world has guided me to become a Yoga teacher as well as a Conservation biologist and Anthrozoologist.

Yoga not only is joyful and helps us care for our physical self, but it helps us care for our emotional self and connects us to the world around us.

The beauty of Yoga is found in the practice, and the integration of that practice into your life both on and off the mat.

Yoga helps you to discover parts of yourself, and to love and embrace all that you are.

It is not just an exercise, it is a way of life, and for me it has helped guide me through both wonderful and difficult times. It has helped to open my heart, pushed me to face my fears and to let go of what holds me back. It’s a life long journey and one where you are continually learning and growing.

As a teacher, I love to help guide people through their own journey of self-discovery, allowing them to realise their own potential, beauty and strength.

My asana classes are aimed to allow people to practice yoga to their own abilities, discover possibilities, breath, let go of expectations, connect and have fun! Building flexibility, strength and working with your breath, allowing you to free your body and mind, promoting a peaceful heart and positivity.
